The AGO recreates New York’s legendary nightclub.

For three years in the 70s, Studio 54 was a Mecca of music and fashion. Andy Warhol, Michael Jackson and Cher regularly rocked the club’s dance floor, a radically inclusive space that welcomed people in all their glamorous glory. Now, the Art Gallery of Ontario is resurrecting the fabled hotspot through hundreds of photos, films and fashion-defining pieces. Even if the pandemic prevents the show from opening as scheduled, here are a few snapshots of Studio 54’s splendour.
